“Some things can't be explained. They just are. And after a while, they disappear, usually forever, or become interesting in another way." - Richard Ford.
When it comes to the paranormal or entities beyond our own dimension, though I would neither call myself a believer or a skeptic, I acknowledge that there are many things we do not yet understand about the world we live in. With an open mind, I try to view things around me as unbiasedly as possible. Still when things happen to me which are otherwise unexplainable, I - like many people - have a tendency to become excited at the potential of documenting something remarkable.
During my family's visit to Texas, we were exploring the downtown area of Waxahachie. This same day we visited the old Court House which has been mentioned in a previous blog post. Near the end of our exploration of the town before having dinner at the popular Bistro restaurant, we happened to discover something quaintly charming. A black metal fence raised on a concrete platform had been dedicated to a public art program. Dozens of locks of all shapes and sizes were fastened to the links of the fence with the initials of lovers carved into them. A particular heart-shaped lock could be purchased at the town information center. Attaching the engraved lock to the fence symbolizes the strength of that relationship and the endurance of their love.
I thought it was a beautiful exhibit and asked my father to take a picture of me in front of the fence. Posing for a moment in the light of the setting sun, my father snapped a photo with his Iphone, one which I would not see until the next day.
The photo above on the far left is the original and unedited photo. The two beside it have been zoomed in to better show the detail of this strange anomaly. Below my necklace, strangely resting directly over my heart, is a single glowing blue orb. At first, I thought the blue glow was a result of a reflection off of the silver casing of my cameo, but upon closer inspection, the orb is a slight distance below the lowest portion of the necklace and is not causing any reflection from it. The sun, as shown in the photo, is off to the left rear side of the photographer, so the orb is not a lense flare. I cannot be sure if this was some kind of glitch in the Iphone's camera, but no other shapes like this appeared in any other photo taken that day. I have no explanation for this luminescent blue glowing orb resting over my heart, but it seems ironic that while posing beside several heart-shaped locks in a place signifying eternal love that such a unique anomaly would appear directly over my heart.
I will not try to speculate what this could be despite not being able to debunk it as anything but a supernatural occurrence. Instead, I will simply state that there are some things that cannot be explained, which is why we must persist in our pursuit of answers.
